Zion National Park's 100th Anniversary in 2009
In 2009, Zion National Park is celebrating a "Century Of Sanctuary". Zion was established as Mukuntuweap National Monument by President William Taft on July 31, 1909. The Park plans to have a series of celebrations and events to commerate this historic milestone.

Zion National Park Centennial Activities
The following events are currently planned in conjunction with Zion National Park’s celebration of a “Century of Sanctuary”. Please check back as more events, activities and programs will be announced.

Employee Reunion with Special Programs - October 16-18, 2009. Advanced registration required. $55 per person/$100 per couple. Register at www.zionpark.org/
100th Anniversary Ceremony - July 31, 2009. (Check back soon for details).
Tunnel Walk -August 26, 2009. Tunnel Walk through the 1.1 mile-long Zion–Mt. Carmel Tunnel. This event is completely full and no more registration is being accepted.
Zion History Component of Educational Field Institute Classes with Historical Themes -March, April, October 2009.

Zion National Park Postage Stamp
First Day of Sale
A new U.S. Postal Service 79 cent stamp featuring Zion National Park was unveiled in a ceremony outside the Zion Canyon Visitor Center on Sunday, June 28. A special pictorial postmark, free with the purchase of a stamp, was also available following the unveiling.
Also on June 28th, the United States Postal Service issued a new Zion National Park International Postage Stamp in Washington DC.
