Yosemite Facelift 2008

Hoist yourself into the annual Facelift Volunteer Clean-up. This five-day event runs September 24 to 28. More than a 1,000 volunteers are expected for the five-day event to clean the roadways, river corridors, trails, climbing routes, and parking, camping and lodging areas.

The event, organized by the Yosemite Climbing Association, removes approximately 25,000 pounds of trash each year.

Register the day of your arrival from 8 am to 5 pm at the Facelift event desk in front of the Valley Visitor Center to grab your garbage bags and go. Participants are asked to check in during the early morning if possible to receive instruction.

By 5 pm each day, collected trash must be returned to the Valley to be sorted for recyclables and archeological assessment.
