The second workshop will convene providers of interpretation in and around Yosemite including NPS staff, associated American Indian tribes, NPS concessioners, Yosemite Association, tour companies, community museums and others.

Location: Cliff Room, Yosemite Lodge.

Interpretive Planning Stakeholder Meeting Agenda

Meeting Outcomes
1) Develop Yosemite National Park’s Outreach and Visitor Experience Goals.
2) Identify specific audiences (current and potential) for Yosemite’s Interpretation and Education Program, and brainstorm methods appropriate for engaging specific audiences.
3) Outline the “continuum of engagement” for Yosemite’s audiences, identifying primary roles and responsibilities of interpretive partners.

Did You Know?
Starting in 1907, the Yosemite Valley Railroad brought passengers bound for Yosemite Valley up the Merced River canyon to El Portal. From there, they would take stagecoaches to the Valley. Some of the old train cars are now on display in El Portal.
