Operating Hours & Seasons
Scenic drive and trails are open all year, from sunrise to sunset.

The Visitor Center is open all year, except December 25.
  Hours:   November - April      9:00 AM - 5:00 PM MST
              May - October           8:00 AM - 5:00 PM MST
               
NOTE: Most of Arizona does not observe Daylight Savings Time. We stay on Mountain Standard Time year-round.

Did You Know?
Legend says that 19th-century explorer John Wesley Powell named Sunset Crater Volcano because its rim of red and yellow cinders suggested the colors of a perpetual sunset.
