Fees

Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail, Lowndes County Interpretive Center does not charge an entrance fee.

Reservations

  • Groups of 10 or more wanting tours should call 334/877-1983 at least one week in advance to schedule tours of the Selma to Montgomery NHT. Lowndes County Interpretive Center.
  • Schoolgroups should bring one chaperone for every 10 students.
  • If you have students with special needs, please contact the park at least 2 weeks in advance of your visit and indicate the type of need you have.

 

 

America the Beautiful - National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands Pass

Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail is not a fee trail and does not participate in the National Parks Pass programs.

All National Parks Passes, Golden Eagle, Golden Eagle Hologram, Golden Access and Golden Age Passport will continue to be honored according to the provisions of the pass.  Only paper Golden Age and Access Passports may be exchanged free of charge for new plastic passes.

Did You Know?
On March 17, 1965, after five days of testimony, Judge Johnson granted an order authorizing the march to Montgomery. On March 21, Martin Luther King led a diverse group of 8,000 demonstrators out of Selma under the protection of 2,000 National Guard troops and federal marshals.
