Redesigning the Waterfront: A Self-Guided Walking Tour
 

The tour begins at Hyde Street Pier and continues west to Lower Fort Mason. Rest spots along the route offer stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands, Angel and Alcatraz Islands and the East Bay Hills.

The walk takes approximately 45 minutes and is three-quarters of a mile (1.2 kilometers).

Did You Know?
The brick building that houses the Visitor Center was built in 1908. It was originally constructed as a warehouse for the California Fruit Canners Association. The building was was given Landmark Status in 1975.
