A Monterey fishing boat painted white and green floating in the water and moored at Hyde Street Pier.
NPS
This Monterey fishing boat is part of the park's small craft collection. Built in 1923, in San Francisco from oak and cedar, she is 23' long with a 9’ beam (width), and is powered by an 8 hp Hick’s engine. Fishermen made a living with this boat trawling for shrimp in SF Bay. A large sack-like trawling net was dragged in the water for about an hour and then hauled into the boat. The catch was kept in wicker baskets on deck. This boat is on display at the end of Hyde Street Pier.
