Russell Cave National Monument
Fees & Reservations
 

Russell Cave National Monument has no fees or admission charges. 
Activities available free of charge include: 
     A ranger guided tour of the cave shelter
     Museum exibits
     Movies about the lifeways of prehistoric people
     Nature hike along Alabama Birding Trail site #44
     Picnic areas
     Demonstrations of prehistoric tools and weapons. 
     (As staffing allows or by reservation.)

We request reservations for groups of twenty or more people at least two weeks in advance.

Pottery Sherd  

Did You Know?
Most of the pottery found at Russell Cave is less than 2500 years old. Some pottery types lasted for hundreds of years while others were only used a few years. The last pottery used in the Cave was broken around A.D. 1500 to 1650.
