Holiday Closures

The Kenneth C. Patrick Visitor Center at Drakes Beach will be closed on Veterans Day (November 11).
All Visitor Centers will close early at 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving (November 26) and on December 24.

Salmon Spawning Season

With the start of winter rains, Coho salmon and Steelhead trout begin their journey up Olema Creek, Lagunitas Creek and other area streams in order to spawn. There are a number of locations in the vicinity of Point Reyes at which to observe this migration. Please be careful not to disturb spawning salmon.

Giacomini Wetland Restoration Project

Thanks to the more than 200 people who showed up on Sunday, October 25, 2009, to help us celebrate the first anniversary of the Giacomini Wetlands project and to learn about the amazing transformations that have occurred in just one year! While the seminars are over for 2009, we do have one more volunteer work day scheduled on Saturday, November 14, 2009, to help revegetate some of our weedy upland areas with native wildrye grasses.
