The wheelchair-accessible Gambrill Mill trail provides scenic views of the river and interpretive waysides.

Several walking trails are available at Monocacy National Battlefield. Some provide scenic walks while others interpret phases of the Battle of Monocacy. A comprehensive, color brochure covering the Battle-related trails at the Worthington and Thomas Farms as well as the Gambrill Mill trail is available for purchase at the Visitor Center.

At the Gambrill Mill, a 1/2-mile loop trail (right) provides scenic views of the Monocacy River as well as interpretive waysides. A portion of this trail is wheelchair accessible.

Two walking trails are featured at the Worthington Farm (auto tour stop 3): the Ford Loop (download a brochure in PDF format, 579KB), which interprets key events in the Battle of Monocacy, and the Brooks Hill Loop trail, a nature walk.

The Thomas Farm (auto tour stop 4) features two walking trails: the Thomas Farm Loop trail (download a brochure in PDF format, 1.19MB),which traces the key events in the Battle of Monocacy; and the Middle Ford Ferry Loop trail, which explores the early settlement of the Monocacy Region and provides peaceful views of the Monocacy River. The Middle Ford Ferry Loop trail can be accessed via the Thomas Farm Loop trail (a brochure is available at the trailhead or you may download a brochure in PDF format, 965 KB).
