Mississippi National River and Recreation Area
Strategic Plan
In 2007, Mississippi National River and Recreation Area staff worked with the Mississippi River Fund and Cinncinnatus, Inc, a consulting firm, to develop a strategic plan that clarifies the goals, visions, and values of the park.  It establishes strategic goals for the next five years and defines an institutional vision through 2018.  The plan puts in writing the core values of the park that guide our work with individuals as well as public and private agencies in relationship to the Mississippi River.

Core values include:
  • Stewardship
  • National Heritage
  • Learning
  • Collaboration
  • Economic Vitality
  • Volunteerism
