Because of their potential negative impact on park wildlife, pets are allowed only on the Exit Glacier Road and in the parking lot, provided they are on leash no longer than 6 feet or otherwise restrained. They are not allowed on trails or in the coastal backcountry. Dogs used for mushing or skijoring may be used on the Harding Icefield at any time, and in the Exit Glacier area when the road is closed due to snow and vehicle access is not allowed. Pets are not allowed in any building regardless of the season. Exceptions will be made for service animals such as seeing-eye and hearing ear dogs.
