Harpers Ferry National Historical Park is committed to promoting the use of cultural and natural resources in the classroom. To help teachers incorporate these resources the park assists in hosting teacher institutes. Three teacher institutes are scheduled for 2009. Please click below for further information.

Robert Harper was granted an exclusive ferry concession in 1861.  

Did You Know?
Robert Harper operated a ferry across the Potomac River in 1747. His heirs, the Wagers, maintained the operation until 1824 when a bridge was built across the Potomac.
