Harpers Ferry National Historical Park is committed to promoting the use of cultural and natural resources in the classroom. John Brown's Raid at Harpers Ferry: HIST680. This 8 week, 3 credit, online graduate course is a partnership with American Public University. July 12-14 is the on-site portion of the course at Harpers Ferry NHP.

Robert Harper operated a ferry across the Potomac River in 1747. His heirs, the Wagers, maintained the operation until 1824 when a bridge was built across the Potomac.
