Cross-country Skiing & Snowshoeing
 
 

Skiing and snowshoeing are popular activites in the park during the long winter months. Download the Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing brochure for a list of popular routes and safety information. PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to mark ski and snowshoe trails this winter, so any references to marked or flagged trails must be disregarded in the linked brochure. You must be responsible for route-finding in the backcountry.

December through March, rangers offer guided snowshoe hikes from the Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center. Call (307) 739-3399 for more details and to make reservations.

Did You Know?
Did you know that Uinta ground squirrels, sometimes mistaken for prairie dogs, hibernate up to eight months a year? These animals leave their burrows in March or April to inhabit the sagebrush flats, but may return by the end of July.
