Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center

Location: The Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center is located at 1013 Lafayette Boulevard in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Film: A 22 minute orientation film is offered on the hour and half-hour daily. The cost of the film is $2 for anyone age 10-61; $1 for anyone 62 or older; children under ten are free.

Guided Walking Tours: Historians lead 35 minute walking tours along the Sunken Road and Stone Wall on weekends and holidays only at 11:25, 1:25, 2:25 and 3:25 through the end of October.

Driving Tour: There are two sections of the battlefield; Prospect Hill and Marye's Heights. A five-mile driving tour links the two sections beginning at the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center at the base of Marye's Heights.

Tape Tours: For those visitors wanting a more detailed tour, a tape tour can be rented or purchased in the bookstore. The tape tour takes approximately three hours to complete.

Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center

Chancellorsville Directions: To reach the Chancellorsville Visitor Center from I-95, take exit 130A (Route 3) west for approximately seven miles. The visitor center is on the right, north side of the highway.

Did You Know?
Some of the nicest weather of the year is during the park's winter season (November-March). It is also one of the best times to visit the park when crowds are smaller and because the leaves off the trees, the views are more extensive and earthworks can be seen more clearly.
