Summer Hours
The official summer season begins June 12, 2009 and ends August 16, 2009. Below is a list of the hours that buildings are open and programs that continue throughout the summer. (Some programs run through Monday September 7th.)

Summer Hours

• Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center: Daily 9-6. 22 minute film shown on the hour and half hour (Fee).

• Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center: Daily 9-6. 22 minute film shown on the hour and half hour (Fee).

• Chatham: Daily 9-4:30. Virginians Desolate, Virginians Free-- 35 minute film shown daily at 11 AM and 2 PM (Free).  

• "Stonewall" Jackson Shrine: Daily 9-5.

• Wilderness Exhibit Shelter: (on Rt. 20) Historian on duty. Tuesday-Thursday 10:30 AM-12:15 PM & 1:45 PM-4:15 PM. Friday-Monday 10:30 AM-12:15 PM & 1:45-5:15 PM.

• Spotsylvania Exhibit Shelter: (off of Brock Road Rt. 613) Historian on duty, daily, 10:00-6:00.

• Ellwood (Wilderness Battlefield): Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays 11-5.

Old Salem Church: (Starting June 20) Saturdays and Sundays, 3-6.

Summer Programs

Sunken Road Walking Tours: begins outside Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center.

Weekends: 9:25, 10:25, 11:25, 1:25, 2:25, 3:25, and 4:25.

Weekdays: 10:25, 11:25, 1:25, 2:25, 3:25, 4:25.

"War So Terrible: The Key to the Battle"
2 Hour caravan tour. Weekends only at 2:15 PM. Meets at Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center going to Prospect Hill, Tour Stop 6. Recommended to be taken along with the 1:25 Sunken Road walking tour for a comprehensive battlefield tour.

"Stonewall" Jackson Wounding Walking Tours: begins outside Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center.

Weekends: 10:25, 11:25, 1:25, 2:25, 3:25, and 4:25.

Weekdays: 10:25, 11:25, 1:25, 2:25, 3:25, and 4:25.

Eyewitness to History--A Dramatic Presentation "His Hero Falls and His Home in Ruin: the David Kyle Story." (Follows the "Stonewall" Jackson Wounding Tour, at the Chancellorsville Visitor Center.)

Weekends only: 11:05, 12:05, 1:05, 2:05, 3:05, and 4:05.

"No Turning Back" Walking Tours: begins at Wilderness Exhibit Shelter, Tour Stop #2 on the Wilderness Battlefield. Daily at 11:00 and 2:00.

"Bloody Angle" Walking Tours: begins at Tour Stop #3 The Bloody Angle, on Spotsylvania Battlefield. Daily at 1:00 and 4:00.

Did You Know?
Both Ellwood and Chatham were owned by the Lacy family during the Civil War. Both houses are part of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park.
