Ninety-two year old Bernie Harris has been a ranger and volunteer at De Soto National Memorial since 1972.

Volunteers work arm in arm with Park Rangers to provide quality, cost-effective services in America's National Parks. Bernie Harris has been a ranger and volunteer at the De Soto National Memorial since 1972 and in 2006 received the Presidential Call to Service Award for his efforts. Ninety-three year old Bernie Harris was recognized for his service on March 11, 2007. VIP Coordinator Diana Bauman congratulates Bernie on his special day.
