Denali National Park and Preserve
Winter Camping
Denali National Park is an amazing place to enjoy winter activities such as snow-shoeing, skiing, or dog mushing. Many winter visitors enjoy using the trails created by the park dog teams. The best months for winter travel are typically February and March. Winter Back-country permits are required for overnight stays and they can be obtained from the Murie Science and Learning Center from 9 am -4 pm, 7 days per week. For visitors interested in winter camping please refer to the Denali’s winter newspaper to help in planning your trip. Please call ahead for current conditions as they tend to be quite variable in Interior Alaska (907-683-2294, daily 9 am - 4 pm).
