Our Business Partners

 

In Denali National Park and Preserve, as in all national parks, commercial business activities are limited and require specific authorization and approval from the National Park Service before any guided activity or business can occur.

 

Doyon/ARAMARK Joint Venture (JV) holds a concession contract to perform multiple visitor services within Denali National Park and Preserve. The JV is authorized by the National Park Service to provide transporation services, including park shuttles, tours, camper and courtesy buses. Additional facilities operated by the JV include:

  • Morino Grill - serving lunch and dinner; to-go items and coffee cart available all day
  • Wilderness Access Center - transportation hub for park shuttle buses; bus and campground reservations; coffee cart and gift shop
  • Riley Creek Mercantile - camper convenience store, including coffee and deli sandwiches
  • Baggage Claim service- leave packages or suitcases in a secure place. Hourly and daily rates.
  • Riley Creek Laundry and Shower Facilities
  • Riley Creek Dump Station
  • Riley Creek Campground
  • Savage River Campground
  • Reservations for campgrounds and buses

Guided Mountaineering

Six companies (Alaska Mountaineering School, Alpine Ascents International, American Alpine Institutes, Mountain Trip, National Outdoor Leadership School, and Rainier Mountaineering, Inc.) offer guided mountaineering “on Mt. McKinley and Mt. Foraker and other peaks of the Alaska Range within Denali National Park as it boundary existed prior to December 2, 1980.”

 

Guided Sport Hunting

Two State-registered guide/outfitters, Wayne Kubat d.b.a. Alaska Remote Guide Service and Don Kann d.b.a. Kichatna Guide Service (907-235-7313), are authorized to provide hunting guide services in the southwest preserve of Denali National Park and Preserve.

 

Kantishna Area Guided Hiking

There are private companies in the Kantishna Hills area that are authorized to provide guided hiking services: Denali Backcountry Lodge, Kantishna Roadhouse, and Camp Denali and North Face Lodge.

 

Air Taxi Services (and glacier landings)

Four air taxi services (Fly Denali, Hudson Air Services, K2/Rustair, and Talkeetna Air Taxi) are authorized to provide air taxi and glacier landing scenic air tour services on the glaciers in the southern park and preserve.

 

Kantishna Air Taxi provides air taxi services between the McKinley Park Airstrip and Kantishna Airstrip, as well as flightseeing services from Kantishna.

 

Dog Sled Freight Services

Denali Dog Freight Expeditions (907-683-1008) offers dog sled supported ski trips within Denali National Park and Preserve.

 

Dog Sled Passenger Service (overnight)

Two concessioners, EarthSong Lodge Dog Sled Adventures and Denali West Lodge offer overnight dog sled passenger service and overnight dog sled supported ski trips within Denali National Park and Preserve.


 

Other Authorizations: Some guided activities occurring outside the Wilderness area of the park (or “new park additions”) are permitted with the issuance of a Commercial Use Authorization (CUA). The following named operators are the only permitted businesses authorized to conduct these activities within Denali National Park and Preserve.
