Things To Know Before You Come
 

WEAR YOUR PFD!
Personal Flotation Devices save lives, and are required for children under the age of 13.

SAFETY AT THE OVERLOOKS
Never throw anything from the overlooks into the canyon!
Hikers are underneath Pioneer Point, Hermit's Rest and other areas below CO Highway 92. Even a small stone can be fatal. Please supervise children closely at overlooks, as weathered rock makes rim edges hazardous, and many places have no guardrails.

The following facilities are accessible to those with mobility impairments:

Campgrounds:
Elk Creek, Lake Fork, Stevens Creek, Cimarron

Visitor Center:
Elk Creek

Overlooks:
Dillon Pinnacles, Hermit's Rest

FOOD, LODGING AND SERVICES
Elk Creek and Lake Fork Marinas typically open beginning to mid-May, and close beginning to mid-September. Operated by Recreation Resource Management, services include daily and seasonal slip rentals, boat rentals, guided fishing expeditions, store and gift shop, gas dock, and boat repair facility.

Pappy's Restaurant is open mid-May and closes shortly after Labor Day.

No lodging is available in the recreation area other than campgrounds.

Full services and lodging are available in nearby communities.

Water is available mid-May through mid-October.

COLLECTING IN THE PARK
Plants, rocks, wildlife and cultural artifacts must not be disturbed or removed.

All motorized watercraft are required to be inspected for invasive mussels before and after launch.
