Park: Year-round use. Reserve roads are generally impassable in the winter. Check with reserve headquarters for road closures at (208) 824-5519.

Visitor Center:

Summer: April 1 through October 31  

Daily, 7 days a week: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Winter: November 1 through March 31 

Monday - Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Closed on holidays.

Did You Know?
Beginning in 1843, City of Rocks was a landmark for emigrants on the California Trail. At the height of emigration, in 1852, some 52,000 people passed through City of Rocks on the way to California goldfields. Today, City of Rocks National Reserve protects over 6 miles of this historic trail.
