Chiricahua National Monument is open all year. The Visitor Center is open daily 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. It is closed Thanksgiving Day and December 25. Remember most of Arizona does not use Daylight Savings Time. Sometimes the scenic drive will be closed beyond the campground due to snow, ice, or fallen rocks.
Did You Know?
Below the Yellowtail Dam, is the site of Fort Smith. One of three military forts along the Bozeman Trail, it was active from August 1866 to July 1868. The first women and children to live within the fort’s perimeters came in the summer of 1867.
