Ranger Programs

Daily Talks

Daily talks are available from mid-June to mid-October. The programs are offered every even hour from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. The talk focuses on the geology of Cedar Breaks, specifically on how it was formed. These talks are held at the Point Supreme Overlook.

Guided Hikes

Cedar Breaks offers three trails ranging from short "leg-stretchers" walks to moderate or difficult walks. Click here to learn more about them.

Evening Programs

Evening programs are offered every night from mid-June to late September as long as the campground is still open. They are held at the Point Supreme Campground Amphitheater. It can be cool at night so remember a jacket. In case of bad weather, the programs will be moved to the Visitor Center. See a Ranger at the Visitor Center for the program being held each night. Topics cover a wide variety of subjects. Past topics included, but not limited to, Cedar Breaks history, Bats, Fire, Night Life, Night Sky, Ravens, Owls, and Spruce Bark Beetle.

Did You Know?
The difference between a National Monument & a National Park is the way they are created. National Parks require a Congressional approval, while National Monuments are established by an Executive order of the President.
