Summer Schedule at Capitol Reef's Visitor Center

Capitol Reef National Park’s Visitor Center commenced summer hours on Friday, May 25th. The Visitor Center will open daily at 8 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. The Capitol Reef Visitor Center features interpretive exhibits, an introductory media presentation shown upon request, and sale of interpretive materials through the park’s cooperating association, the Capitol Reef Natural History Association.
Interpretive programs also began on Friday. Program schedules are posted throughout town or can be downloaded here. The Ripple Rock Nature Center is now open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The Nature Center offers a variety of hands-on learning activities for children and families. The Historic Gifford Farmhouse is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Part museum, part country store, the Gifford House sells homemade fruit pies, fresh-baked breads, old-fashioned soda pop and ice cream along with pioneer handicrafts.
