Capitol Hill Parks
Places

There are many park areas in the constellation known as the Capitol Hill Parks. Some are large urban park areas, such as Folger, Lincoln, Marion and Stanton parks. Others are squares and triangles created by Pierre L'Enfant's 1791 plan for Washington, DC (and subsequent modifications to that plan). Seward Square, Twining Square, the Potomac Avenue Metro Station, and the median and center parking areas along Pennsylvania Avenue are also some of the areas.

Did You Know?
The Service Flag was used during World Wars I and II. Each family was entitled to hang a small flag in their window; the blue star in the center of the red-bordered white rectangle signified a family member in active service. The star was replaced with a gold one if the family member died in action.
