Fatality at Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area
A 57-year-old man was found deceased on Friday, July 18, 2008 off the Angel Falls Trail. The man has tentatively been identified as John Thomas Morgan of Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Reed E. Detring To Leave Big South Fork
Acting Southeast Regional Director Paul Anderson recently announced that Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area (NRRA) Superintendent Reed E. Detring will be leaving the region to assume the position of Superintendent at Ozark National Scenic Riverways in Missouri.

Spring Planting Festival April 26
Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area will be hosting the Eighth Annual Spring Planting Day Celebration on Saturday, April 26, 2008. The event will take place in the areas adjacent to the Bandy Creek Visitor Center and the Lora Blevins home place from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
