September 01, 2009 Tour Greeneville by Cell Phone The National Park Service announced today that the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site has created a new way to tour both the historic site and the Town of Greeneville with your cell phone. The tour is easy to access by dialing 423-278-5555 and then follow the given directions.

Family tradition holds that Andrew Johnson arrived in Greeneville with a cart drawn by a blind pony in 1826. His mother and step-father were with him. Tradition also says they camped at a spring on the Homestead property.
