This year Beringia Days conference will be held in Anadyr', Chukotka, Russia. If you would like to attend, pleases read the following.

As of now the conference is scheduled for Sept. 16 – 18. The dates might be moved to Sept. 15 – 17 to accommodate the plane schedules. There will be one or more charters with Bering Air from Nome to Anadyr’. If your travel is not funded by NPS you’ll be able to purchase a seat fare from Bering Air (see below). Bering Air has strict weight restrictions. Your total weight allowance including your own weight and luggage can not exceed 225 lbs. Currently we plan to depart Nome on Sept. 13 arriving in Anadyr’ on Sept. 14 and depart Anadyr’ on Sept. 19 arriving back in Nome on Sept. 18. The above dates is not a mistake, they are this way because you’ll cross the International Date Line.

Obtaining a Russian entry visa: Please, send us some additional information for the invitations: your place of work, your title, and work address. By early August we will need you to send us your passport originals together with a completed visa application, two passport photos, and a check for $100 payable to “Russian Consulate in Seattle”. We are going to compile a packet of documents and send them to the Russian Consulate in Seattle to obtain the Russian visas. Our Chukotka hosts will send the originals of our invitations directly to the Consulate. Each invitation costs 200 rubles or approximately $7 payable when we arrive in Chukotka.
