Metro provides public transportation nearby to several entrances to Anacostia Park.

Park entrances one and two are closest to the Anacostia Metro Station on the Green Line. This metro station is on Howard Road, between Martin Luther King, Jr. and Firth Sterling Avenues. The Anacostia Metro Station has a parking garage accessible by car from Howard Road.

Park entrance three is closer to the Potomac Avenue Metro Station on the Orange/Blue Lines. This metro station is located on 14th Street, near 14th and G Streets beside Potomac Avenue, and adjacent to Pennsylvania Avenue.

From the Anacostia Metro Station Parking Lot the park is accessible by crossing the road that leads to the parking lot and entering the park through the fence behind the Park Headquarters.

The Potomac Avenue Metro Station provides Metro bus service to areas nearby park entrance three.  Bus lines cross the Sousa Bridge and stop at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and L’Enfant Square. This intersection is approximately three blocks beyond park entrance three. A bus stop is located on Pennsylvania Avenue, east of the Potomac Metro Station Circle. Another bus stop is located on Pennsylvania Avenue within the circle.
