Pedestrians and cyclists may enter the park via Good Hope Road, Nicholson Street, or through the rear fence near the Anacostia Metro Station Parking Lot. 

A foot bridge to Anacostia Park is located at 1601 16th Street  near the District of Columbia Sports and Fitness Complex and Anacostia Senior High School.

There is also a staircase and a paved walkway leading directly from the Sousa Bridge into Anacostia Park near the intersection of Nicholson Street and Anacostia Drive.

RMS Titanic  

Did You Know?
On April 15, 1912, the RMS Titanic hit an iceberg and sunk. Of the approximate 2,200 people on board, only 700 survived. Washington’s high society circles contributed in creating a Butt-Millet Memorial Fountain, located on the Ellipse for two who perished, Major Archibald Butt and Francis Millet.
